Creating Sanctuaries, Restoring Lives.
We transform neglected and deprived housing into trauma-informed sanctuaries for families using design as a tool for healing, dignity, and wellbeing. We bridge the gap between health and housing, working to prevent the long-term impacts of poverty, inequality, and unsafe living conditions.

Who We Are
Mikdash is a Community Interest Company dedicated to transforming unsafe, neglected housing into healing, dignified homes for children and their families.
Founded by Gloria Grace — a Community Children’s Nurse, interior designer, and children’s health advocate with over seven years of clinical experience across the NHS and private sector. Having witnessed first-hand how substandard housing worsens health inequalities, delays child development, and undermines family wellbeing, Gloria created Mikdash to address a critical gap: the intersection of healthcare, design and h

Designing not just interiors, but brighter futures.
What We Do

Transform Spaces
We turn unsafe, empty, or neglected housing into fully furnished, trauma-informed sanctuaries — designed to restore dignity, improve health outcomes, and foster emotional healing.

Wellbeing & Interior Workshops
We deliver practical and creative workshops for families, teaching how to maintain, personalise, and optimise their living spaces for wellbeing.

Family Support Services
Our work goes beyond interiors. We connect families to specialist services such as mental health support, domestic abuse services, benefits advice, and community resources.

Upcycle & Refurbish Workshops
We teach sustainable skills by refurbishing donated furniture and household items — reducing waste and giving families ownership of their space.

Community Events & DIY Challenges
We bring communities together for fun, hands-on activities that promote collaboration, creativity, and a sense of belonging.
Mikdash Transformations
Every home we transform tells a story of resilience, hope, and new beginnings.
At Mikdash, we take unsafe, neglected, or empty spaces and redesign them into fully furnished, trauma-informed sanctuaries where families can heal and thrive. From thoughtful design choices that promote calm and dignity, to essential furniture that turns bare rooms into nurturing environments, each transformation is rooted in our belief that a safe, beautiful home is a necessity — not a luxury.
These are not just houses made liveable, but lives rebuilt with compassion, care, and purpose.
